Welcome to the London International Gospel Choir

The London International Gospel Choir, one of the largest open community choirs in the city, enables people who enjoy singing to meet socially while developing their voice – with uplifting material including gospel, pop and soul.
We run virtual rehearsals via Zoom and new singers are always welcome – please get in touch!

We cherish the joy, beauty and spiritual power in African-American Christian worship music and the genres that grew from it – soul, funk, R&B, jazz, blues and Motown (to name a few). LIGC is committed to honouring and respecting this music and the people who created it.

Our repertoire features the likes of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston, Kirk Franklin and Kurt Carr, along with shows such as Hamilton and Jesus Christ Superstar, and films including The Preacher’s Wife and Sister Act.

We embrace the rich diversity of people who live in London – and commit to treating everyone with the same dignity and respect regardless of age, gender, race, dis/ability or sexual orientation.

In everything we do, we aim to:

    • be inclusive, kind, patient and humble
    • listen carefully and deeply
    • be professional and uphold high musical standards

Above all, we seek to act in a loving way – in how we treat each other, in how we work together, and through the music we make.
