Welcome to the London International Gospel Choir

The London International Gospel Choir, one of the largest open community choirs in the city, enables people who enjoy singing to meet socially while developing their voice – with uplifting material including gospel, pop, jazz, funk, soul, and the root of it all, African song.

London is home to people from all over the world, and we celebrate this diversity in a welcoming and fun environment. LIGC is open to all.

We hold weekly rehearsals in Stratford, Notting Hill and Highbury and Islington, and new singers are always welcome – get in touch!

About

LIGC evolved from the award-winning London Youth Gospel Choir, and has become a strong social network – ideal for those who want to sing and make new friends.

The choir is non-auditioned, but gives members the chance to work on vocal, theoretical and performance skills, with help from the music team. There are also opportunities for solo singing and working in small groups.

Rehearsals are fun and energetic, but the choir also seeks to train hard and deliver high performance standards. Many LIGC singers become involved in regular studio recordings and live singing at corporate events.

We sing secular and spiritual music in a gospel style – rich in harmony and full of movement and expression. Our repertoire features music by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston, Kirk Franklin and Kurt Carr, along with songs from shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, and films including The Preacher’s Wife and of course Sister Act.

We hold rehearsals in 3 different locations: Stratford, Notting Hill and Highbury and Islington – please get in touch to find out how you can join us.
