James is a recent addition to the LIGC music team, but he’s spent years developing the skills and passion he now brings to the choir. Following classical training in the piano, trombone and music theory at Trinity College of Music junior department, James discovered a love of singing. His creative approach is driven by a particular appreciation for the relationships between different styles of music. From arranging new songs to running rehearsals and managing gigs, his infectious enthusiasm, fearless spirit and wealth of musical knowledge shine through.
Emily has a background in classical music, having played the piano from the age of four and achieving Grade 8 on the oboe and in classical singing. As a member of many different musical and vocal groups from a young age, she has experience in amateur musical theatre, opera and chamber singing – and both secular and spiritual music. At university, she sang in one of the country’s largest gospel choirs. Emily joined LIGC after moving to London in 2014. Her classical roots have stuck with her and she now leads our choral group.
